It was largely about surviving wolf attacks. While walking, Flannery Joe Anderson falls behind, and is killed by wolves. For fans macmenzie the film I would definitely recommend the book, and for those that haven’t seen the film, try the book first, keffers really does have so much more to offer including a lot more background detail of the main character. I found this wolf-packed survival history of human and animal nature as an opposite to Call of the Wild.
Both the film and the book Ottways are dark, damned, lost souls, but the one in the book is darker, less confident, and less redeemable.
